National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the city of Arkadag on Sunday, where he called for accelerating the implementation of the second phase of the city’s construction. The visit was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.

During the visit, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty reviewed project plans for a production complex and road and transport infrastructure facilities scheduled to be built as part of the second construction phase. Among the planned developments are entrance gates along Ahalteke Atlary Avenue, decorative symbols in front of the multi-purpose stadium, a water supply system from the Karakum River using open reservoirs for irrigation ponds, as well as the design of the railway station and the administrative building of the Gorjaw District.

Berdimuhamedov provided a number of comments and adjustments to the plans, emphasizing the importance of proper placement of social and industrial facilities, and ensuring that construction and decorative materials are suited to local climatic and soil conditions.

Wishing all stakeholders success in the timely and proper execution of the assigned tasks—which are aimed at supporting the city's comprehensive development and expediting the construction of various facilities—the National Leader and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty departed the site.

The city of Arkadag was officially inaugurated on June 29, 2023. During the first construction phase, 336 modern facilities were completed. The second phase includes the construction of more than 180 residential buildings, as well as additional social and transport infrastructure.
