President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday in Ashgabat welcomed Kazuhiko Amakawa, Vice President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), as the official Turkmen media reported.
The sides noted the long-standing successful cooperation with JBIC, under which several major projects have been implemented, particularly in the gas chemical industry. The President emphasized Turkmenistan’s focus on advancing macroeconomic policy, improving financial markets, and expanding investment opportunities, including in natural gas production and processing.
Amakawa reaffirmed JBIC’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation and expressed readiness to explore new areas of partnership.
Concluding the meeting, the Head of State expressed confidence that Turkmenistan’s partnership with JBIC will continue to develop on a mutually beneficial basis and wished the Japanese guest success in his work.
JBIC has been one of Turkmenistan’s key partners in supporting large-scale industrial projects for many years. With the bank’s assistance, significant initiatives in the gas and chemical sectors have been carried out in the country.
