President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in the official opening ceremony of a newly built border guard complex of the State Border Service in Sarahs on Friday, according to Turkmen state media.

The new complex features a main administrative building, a parade ground, a 300-seat cultural center, a barracks for servicemen, a sports and wellness center, and a modern dining facility. In addition, residential buildings for 144 families of military personnel were built and fully equipped with all necessary amenities.

The facility is outfitted with modern technologies and digital systems, ensuring round-the-clock control along the national border. This highlights the continued strengthening of the material and technical base of the National Army and the consistent improvement of living conditions for military personnel.

President Berdimuhamedov toured several parts of the complex, including residential housing, barracks, the canteen, a retail outlet, and a state-of-the-art medical center. Special attention was given to sports and playground areas designed for the families and children of servicemen.

While inspecting military equipment, the President emphasized that the material and technical resources of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies would continue to be enhanced. He also stressed the importance of raising the professional qualifications of military personnel, particularly young soldiers and officers who operate military hardware.

The commissioning of the new Sarahs border guard complex, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, stands as a meaningful gift to the country’s border service members.
