Turkmenistan’s President Congratulates UN Secretary-General on Organization’s 80th Anniversary

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.

“In the past eight decades, the United Nations has become a key center for uniting efforts aimed at ensuring peace, security, and sustainable development. The important documents adopted and initiatives implemented by the Organization have created a solid foundation for modern international relations,” the President’s message stated.

One of the priority directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is long-term cooperation with the United Nations in such areas as peace and security, energy, transport and communications, environmental protection, and sustainable development. The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen and expand its multifaceted partnership with the United Nations.

Taking the opportunity, President Berdimuhamedov extended his heartfelt wishes of good health, happiness, and prosperity to António Guterres, as well as warm congratulations and best wishes for continued success to the staff of the UN Secretariat.
