President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed Ashgabat on an official visit to the Italian Republic. Senior officials of Turkmenistan saw him off at the capital’s International Airport.
The presidential aircraft landed at Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino International Airport in Rome, where Italian officials and members of Turkmenistan’s official delegation warmly welcomed the Turkmen leader.
Relations between Turkmenistan and Italy represent a successful and mutually beneficial partnership with deep historical roots and strong prospects. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the two countries have actively developed multifaceted cooperation based on mutual respect.
During the visit, President Berdimuhamedov will hold talks with the President of Italy. The program also includes participation in the Turkmen-Italian Business Forum and the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Ancient Civilization of Turkmenistan” at the Capitoline Museums in Rome.
The visit is expected to conclude with the signing of several bilateral agreements in key areas of cooperation.
