“Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy” Winner Receives Car

Turkmenistan celebrated Turkmen Alabay Day with nationwide festivities. The main event took place at the open arena of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex, where the results of the International “Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy” contest and a creative competition dedicated to the Turkmen Alabay in visual and decorative arts, printed media, photography, and television were announced.

A key highlight of the celebration honoring the nation’s loyal companions was the conclusion of both the international contest and the creative showcase. Ten top Alabays from across Turkmenistan, selected during preliminary rounds, were presented to the judges and audience, along with each dog’s name, age, pedigree, and owner information.

The title of “Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy” was awarded to Wepaly, a Turkmen Alabay owned by the Ministry of Defense. Wepaly was trained and prepared for the competition by Honored Turkmen Cynologist O. Saparov. The winner received the President of Turkmenistan’s Grand Prize — a Toyota Camry — along with a special medal, a challenge cup, and a diploma.

Winners of the creative competition were also announced. The contest, open to artists, sculptors, carpet makers, photographers, publishers, and television operators, recognized both experienced professionals and emerging young talents. Awards were presented in categories including Best Carpet Featuring a Turkmen Alabay, Best Artistic Depiction, Best Sculpture, Best Printed Media, and Best Television Story highlighting the courage of the Turkmen Alabay.
