A single logistics operator is set to be established to develop the Middle Volga–Caspian–Gulf transport route. The agreement was reached during the international logistics forum “Middle Volga–Caspian,” held Friday in Ulyanovsk, as reported by PortNews agency.

The operator will coordinate logistics from the Volga regions and central Russia to Caspian Sea ports and terminals in India, with the possibility of return cargo shipments. The project aims to optimize transit times, reduce logistics costs, and minimize risks amid sanctions-related restrictions.

The initiative also includes plans to create a modern logistics hub to boost exports of products manufactured in the Volga Federal District to Persian Gulf countries.

The Middle Volga–Caspian Sea–Gulf route is part of the international North–South transport corridor. The project will enable direct consolidated cargo shipments from Middle Volga ports and European Russia through the Caspian Sea to ports in the Persian Gulf and India, including opportunities for return cargo.
