Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was awarded Kazakhstan’s highest state honor, the Order of “Altyn Qyran,” during a state visit Tuesday, the press service of the Kazakh president reported.

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted Berdimuhamedov’s role as a respected state figure of a new generation, describing him as a progressive and strong leader who consistently strengthens Turkmenistan’s statehood, socio-economic potential, and international standing.

Tokayev noted that Turkmenistan is undergoing active modernization of its industry and transport infrastructure, with significant work underway to enhance energy capacity and implement technological transformation. He emphasized that, under Berdimuhamedov’s leadership, large-scale social projects are being carried out, the scientific and educational sectors are steadily developing, and the welfare of citizens continues to improve. He said these achievements deserve the highest recognition.

Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Tokayev and the Kazakh people for the honor, stating that the award reflects respect for the people of Turkmenistan and symbolizes the strong friendship and good-neighborly relations between the two countries. He added that close and effective cooperation on the international stage demonstrates a high level of mutual understanding, solidarity, and support in addressing key regional and global issues.

The Order of “Altyn Qyran” is Kazakhstan’s highest state award. It is bestowed on outstanding figures for their services to the state.
