China has expressed its readiness to work with Turkmenistan to strengthen transport connectivity, Ambassador of China to Turkmenistan Ji Shumin said in an interview with the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan, published Friday.
The diplomat added that Beijing also intends to expand cooperation in key areas, accelerate the implementation of humanitarian projects, and deepen engagement under the China–Central Asia framework.
Ji Shumin noted that Turkmenistan is marking the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality, recognized by a United Nations General Assembly resolution. He said the policy of positive neutrality has contributed to the country’s development and regional stability. The Ambassador also highlighted the significance of the upcoming International Forum on Peace and Trust, which offers new opportunities for international cooperation.
The neutrality anniversary coincides with 30 years of growing China–Turkmenistan relations. In recent years, the two sides have elevated their cooperation to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, Ji Shumin added.
In conclusion, the Ambassador congratulated Turkmenistan’s leadership on the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality and wished the country continued prosperity.
