The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met Monday with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Kaha Imnadze, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
Imnadze conveyed greetings from U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and expressed high regard for Turkmenistan’s initiatives to strengthen peace and promote sustainable development, as well as the country’s contribution to the activities of the regional center.
Berdimuhamedov underscored the importance of the meeting ahead of the International Day of Neutrality and noted that, at Turkmenistan’s initiative, 2025 was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Both sides noted plans to hold a final international forum in Ashgabat with high-level participation and emphasized the strategic nature of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the United Nations.
The meeting concluded with confirmation of readiness to further develop cooperation and continue constructive dialogue.
