National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on Thursday received Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Ashgabat International Airport, according to state media.
The leaders held talks during which Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to Erdoğan for participating in the international forum marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. He noted that the visit underscores Ankara’s consistent support for Turkmenistan’s foreign policy course.
President Erdoğan thanked Berdimuhamedov for the invitation and highlighted the significance of the Ashgabat forum as a platform for discussing further international cooperation and promoting the principles of peace and trust.
The leaders stressed their mutual interest in strengthening Turkmen-Turkish cooperation and confirmed their commitment to developing partnership across a broad range of areas.
Earlier, Ashgabat also received President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of Iraq Abdul Latif Rashid and President of São Tomé and Príncipe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova.
