Turkmenistan is currently hosting 19 projects involving Turkish companies, with a total value of around $10 billion, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said following his visit to Ashgabat after attending the International Forum on Peace and Trust, held to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
Erdoğan noted that the cumulative value of projects carried out by Turkish businesses in Turkmenistan since the country gained independence has reached approximately $55 billion, Anadolu Agency reported Saturday.
The Turkish president emphasized that Turkmenistan is among the key countries where Turkish companies undertake major infrastructure and investment projects.
Erdoğan also outlined plans to increase bilateral trade turnover to $5 billion, highlighting the potential for further expansion of economic and trade cooperation.
In 2024, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Turkey totaled $2.17 billion.
