Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are discussing a mechanism to supply cotton raw materials from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyz enterprises, followed by the production of finished textile goods, Danil Ibraуev, a member of the Presidium of the Business Council of the Eurasian Economic Union and president of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, said on the radio station Birinchi Radio.
According to Ibraev, the finished products could be sold both on Kyrgyzstan’s domestic market and abroad, including to countries in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“Turkmenistan produces significant volumes of cotton. We are currently discussing how to establish its supply to Kyrgyzstan and develop textile production here,” Ibraev said.
The report said the two sides are also considering mutual agricultural product supplies. At present, tomatoes are being delivered from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan.
