The first baby of 2026 was born Jan. 1 in Ashgabat at the city’s Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health, official Turkmen media reported Thursday.
The child is the firstborn of Emir Gayypov and Sheker Begenjova and was named Atamyrat.
He weighed 3 kilograms, 1 gram, and measured 48 centimeters at birth.
To mark the occasion, the family received gifts on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov; President Serdar Berdimuhamedov; and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.
