The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed condolences to Switzerland following a fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort that caused numerous deaths and injuries, the ministry’s press service said Saturday.
The fire broke out on New Year’s Eve at the popular Swiss Alpine resort.
According to Valais canton police, at least 40 people were killed and 119 others injured, most in serious condition.
The Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection said hospitals in Germany, France, Italy and Belgium are also receiving victims.
