Kazakhstan considers freight transportation along the Russia–Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran route, with access to seaports, to be promising, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in an interview with the newspaper Turkistan, according to akorda.kz.
The Kazakh leader said the country is actively involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, the development of the North–South transport corridor and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, and supports China’s participation in the corridor.
He said the potential of Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics sector remains high and extends beyond infrastructure, encompassing key sectors of the national economy.
From January to November 2025, 19,000 container shipments were transported through Turkmenistan’s territory.
