Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met Wednesday in Ashgabat with Faryal Legari, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, to discuss preparations for high-level state visits planned this year.
The sides exchanged views on key areas for further bilateral cooperation and agreed on approaches for implementing joint initiatives in the coming year, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
The meeting also covered the organization of the sixth session of the Turkmen-Pakistani Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the holding of political consultations at the level of foreign ministry leaders, and preparations for the Turkmen-Pakistan Business Forum.
Participants also reviewed the list of bilateral documents planned for signing in 2026.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan were established on May 10, 1992.
