Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met Wednesday in Ashgabat with EU Special Representative for Central Asia Eduards Stiprais to discuss cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union in the transport sector, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
The sides reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU in areas of mutual interest.
They also expressed interest in expanding political and diplomatic dialogue and strengthening the legal framework for cooperation. In this context, the sides discussed the possibility of organizing high-level meetings and visits later this year.
The sides exchanged views on developing partnership in vocational education.
Stiprais arrived in Turkmenistan to take part in events held as part of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia Week, taking place in Ashgabat from Jan. 20 to Jan. 23.
