U.S. Secretary of the Army, Daniel Driscoll, thanked Turkmen partners for their hospitality and open dialogue, he said Friday in a post on social media.
During his visit to Ashgabat, Secretary Driscoll held substantive meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, with the participation of the U.S. ambassador to India and U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor.
The sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of security and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and stability in Central Asia.
On the same day, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor and Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll.
