President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent a message congratulating servicemembers and personnel of the military and law enforcement agencies on Defender of the Fatherland Day, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
The message said the holiday reflects the state’s trust in those responsible for safeguarding the country’s independence, permanent neutrality, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as national security.
The date was described as symbolizing the long-standing aspirations of the Turkmen people to establish an independent state. The message noted that the anniversary of independence would be widely commemorated, with efforts aimed at promoting the significance and value of the country’s main national holiday.
The message said Turkmenistan prioritizes improving living and service conditions for servicemembers and their families. Strengthening the material and technical base of the military and law enforcement agencies and ensuring appropriate conditions for service and rest remain key elements of state policy and military reform.
The president wished servicemembers good health, family well-being and success in their duties.
