U.S. Special Envoy Thanks Turkmen President for Hospitality

U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Ambassador to India Sergio Gore, thanked Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his warm hospitality.

The statement came after Gore’s discussion with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which recent positive developments in the region, including Gore’s visit to Turkmenistan, were reviewed. The diplomat shared the update on his social media accounts on Tuesday.

During the visit, Special Envoy Gore and U.S. Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll met with President Berdimuhamedov and Turkmenistan’s Defense Minister, Begench Gundogdyyev.

Gore also met with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. The sides discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation.
