Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a phone call Friday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. special envoy Sergio Gor, according to a U.S. State Department press release.
The sides discussed regional security issues and the Central Asia economy, the statement said.
They also exchanged views on key areas of cooperation.
Rubio reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to developing partnership with Turkmenistan, including expanding business ties and further strengthening bilateral relations.
Last week, meanwhile, U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor and U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll paid an official visit to Turkmenistan.
