Thirty foreign delegations visited Turkmenistan in January 2026 through the Foreign Ministry, while 65 Turkmen delegations traveled abroad, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov said at a regular government meeting Friday.
According to the Turkmen official media, 21 meetings at various levels were held online during the month. Turkmenistan also organized 116 official talks and meetings with foreign states and international organizations. During the reporting period, the country expanded its international legal framework by signing 12 international documents.
Among key engagements, the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Austria held political consultations online. Ashgabat also hosted consultations with the foreign ministries of India, Morocco and Russia.
Meredov said the newly appointed ambassador of Chad to Turkmenistan presented credentials in January.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed officials to continue developing relations with countries worldwide and major international organizations, and to ensure a high standard in organizing and hosting international events in the country.
The Cabinet of Ministers meeting reviewed work carried out in Turkmenistan in January.
