The total outstanding loans issued by Turkmen banks to businesses, organizations, and the public in the national currency reached 98.56 billion manats as of Jan. 1, 2026, up from 92.14 billion manats a year earlier, according to the electronic journal Bank Habarlary, published by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
As of Jan. 1, 2026, loans to government institutions and state-owned enterprises totaled 48.33 billion manats, down from 52.13 billion manats on Jan. 1, 2025.
Outstanding loans to the private sector in the national currency amounted to 18.83 billion manats as of Jan. 1, 2026, up from 14.76 billion manats a year earlier.
Loans to individuals and entrepreneurs operating without forming a legal entity totaled 25.25 billion manats on Jan. 1, 2026, compared with 31.39 billion manats on Jan. 1, 2025.
