Turkmenistan’s Consul General in Afghanistan, Bazarbay Kabayev, met with Balkh Governor Mohammad Yousuf Wafa on Feb. 9 to discuss major infrastructure projects.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, officials reviewed cooperation in trade, transport and transit, and energy sectors.
They also discussed 2026 events under the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses" and the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
Earlier, 21 villages in Afghanistan’s Sang-Atash district, Badghis province, were connected to Turkmenistan’s energy system.
