In 2026, 30 apartment buildings will be commissioned in the Parahat-7 residential complex in Ashgabat, along with multiple retail and service facilities. Another 46 modern residential buildings will open in a residential complex in the Buzmeyin district, while the capital will also add 127 two-story cottages, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said Friday at an expanded Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, a multifunctional cultural center with a capacity of 4,000 seats will be built and commissioned in the capital.
Ashgabat will also open an International Pediatric Center, an International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, and a Dentistry Center. In addition, the country’s well-known health resort, the Archman Sanatorium, will expand with a new 400-bed building, the president said.
Under the Program for the Socioeconomic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments in 2026, more than 900,000 square meters of housing are planned for construction and commissioning this year, along with general education schools for 3,380 students and preschools for 1,080 children. As part of the program aimed at improving living conditions, construction of a number of facilities and buildings will be launched in the provinces and the capital.
At the expanded Cabinet meeting, officials summed up the country’s performance in 2025, heard reports from vice premiers, heads of relevant ministries, and provincial governors, and discussed socioeconomic development objectives for 2026, as well as personnel appointments and dismissals.
