Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Firas Al-Oda underscored Turkmenistan’s strategic importance in energy, petrochemicals, textiles and building materials—sectors of interest to Kuwait’s private sector—during a meeting Monday with a Turkmen delegation led by Mergen Gurdov, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
Al Oda stressed the need to open new horizons for economic cooperation and strengthen partnership with Turkmenistan, the KUNA reported.
Speaking at a reception for the Turkmen economic delegation at the chamber, Al Oda said the meeting provides a practical platform to establish direct business contacts between companies of the two countries, encourage joint projects and build long-term partnerships.
Gurdov confirmed interest in signing a cooperation protocol with the Kuwaiti chamber and strengthening ties with relevant institutions, describing Kuwait as a strategic gateway to Gulf markets.
A multimedia presentation showcased Turkmen goods, tourist sites, industrial enterprises and technology companies during the meeting.
