Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed an order Friday directing the distribution of cash gifts in observance of International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, official Turkmen media reported.

The decree recognizes the significant contributions of Turkmen women to the nation’s prosperity and the implementation of reforms, their role in raising loyal, healthy, and spiritually developed generations, and aims to uphold traditional respect for mothers and sisters. It also follows Presidential Resolution No. 1152, issued Feb. 27, 2019, on awarding cash gifts to women on International Women’s Day.

Between March 2 and 6, 2026, women and girls across the country will receive cash gifts of 60 manat each in a ceremonial setting. Beneficiaries include those employed at enterprises, institutions, and organizations regardless of ownership, pensioners, recipients of state allowances, postgraduate and doctoral students and clinical residents, as well as students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Turkmenistan with programs of at least two years’ duration, schoolgirls, and preschool-aged children.

The celebrations will also feature concerts, art exhibitions, and theatrical performances across the country’s provinces and in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, including a gala concert at the Palace of Mukams.

The Cabinet of Ministers also discussed and adopted decisions on a range of other key issues during its latest session.
