From March 14 to 30, the Eastern Circus show will be staged at Circus Sea Breeze in Baku, featuring performances by Turkmenistan’s national equestrian group Galkynysh, official media reported Thursday.
The troupe, part of the State Circus of Turkmenistan, will present its internationally recognized equestrian act to audiences in the Azerbaijani capital. In 2025, the group received the top prize at the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo.
The performances include complex acrobatic elements executed on galloping Akhal-Teke horses, demonstrating precision, coordination and traditions of Turkmen equestrian art rooted in centuries of history.
The Eastern Circus program also features acrobats, specialty performers and acts with trained animals. The Galkynysh group’s appearances in Baku are timed to celebrations of International Day of Novruz.
