Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov met with Juraj Nociar, permanent representative of the Slovak Republic to the European Union, to discuss the state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, the Turkmen Embassy in Belgium said.

The talks reviewed the development of bilateral relations and underscored the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and high-level contacts as key factors in sustainable cooperation.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to further strengthen the legal and contractual framework between Turkmenistan and the EU, as well as to improve the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms.

The interlocutors noted the relevance of expanding the Turkmenistan–EU cooperation agenda to include new areas reflecting mutual interests. Separate attention was given to the development of interregional cooperation between the EU and Central Asia, which was described as taking on strategic importance.

The meeting concluded with the view that deepening the EU–Central Asia strategic partnership creates additional opportunities to strengthen full-format bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
