Turkmenistan plans to complete construction and commission several key transport infrastructure facilities in 2026, according to the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.

Priority projects include new railway and bus terminals in the city of Arkadag, as well as maritime and warehousing facilities. In the maritime sector, two dry cargo vessels and one dredging vessel are scheduled to be commissioned.

The Program for Socio-Economic Development and Investment for 2026 also includes construction of a modern logistics warehouse at the “dry port” of the Turgundi railway station and the addition of a new Ro-Ro vessel to the national fleet.

New transit routes are planned as part of the 2026 transport strategy, a move aimed at strengthening Turkmenistan’s role as an international transport hub.

Authorities say investment policy is supporting growth in freight volumes and better use of the country’s strategic geographic position.

A section of the high-speed Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway between Mary and Turkmenabat is also scheduled to open in 2026.
