President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on Friday during a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting to move the day off marking International Women’s Day.
According to the news program Watan habarlary, the document, signed in accordance with Part 2 of Article 81 of Turkmenistan’s Labor Code, moves the day off from March 8, 2026, to Monday, March 9.
The document instructs all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, to ensure implementation of the decree.
Earlier, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed an order to provide cash gifts in honor of International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8.
