The national flag of Turkmenistan was unfurled on the summit of Mount Ararat, the highest peak in Türkiye, by members of an expedition from the fan club of Arkadag Football Club. The ascent took place from March 1 to March 6 with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Türkiye.
The expedition was led by Turkmen student and mountaineer Agajan Ovlyakulyyev, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
At the summit of Mount Ararat, at an altitude of 5,137 meters, participants unfurled the national flag of Turkmenistan, the emblem of Arkadag Football Club and the 2026 logo.
The initiative symbolized respect for national values and sporting achievements.
According to reports, the event was dedicated to the 2026 motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” as well as the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
With the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan and at the initiative of Turkmen students studying at Turkish universities, fan clubs of Arkadag Football Club have also been established in the cities of Ankara and Antalya.
