President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov hosted an iftar on Saturday at the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex, according to the Watan Habarlary news program.
The iftar was attended by the country’s mufti, imams from all provinces, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, along with other citizens.
National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that holding an iftar on the eve of the sacred Night of Power during the month of Oraza is a virtuous act, during which verses from the Quran are recited and prayers are offered to the Almighty.
The mufti of Turkmenistan recited verses from the Quran and offered a prayer, expressing hope that the iftars organized by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov would be accepted by God.
Various dishes were then served to the participants of the iftar.
