National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Equuleus International Equestrian Complex during a goodwill visit to the People’s Republic of China, official Turkmen media reported Thursday.
Berdimuhamedov was warmly received by leaders of the Chinese Equestrian Association, representatives of academic circles, and officials of the Equuleus International Equestrian Complex. The Chinese side briefed the Turkmen leader on the activities of the facility.
The National Leader of the Turkmen People watched horse performances and inspected Akhal-Teke horses. Specialists at the complex noted that the breeding of the Akhal-Teke breed in China follows Turkmen traditions and equestrian methods.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also toured an art exhibition displayed in the complex’s administrative building. After viewing the exhibition, Berdimuhamedov met with members of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association and Chinese enthusiasts of the Akhal-Teke breed.
Berdimuhamedov spoke about the Akhal-Teke horses and highlighted that Turkmenistan also pays close attention to the development of Turkmen Alabai dogs. He noted that Alabay dogs are distinguished by their strong build and strength and added that those interested may join the International Association Turkmen Alabay dogs.
Berdimuhamedov invited the Chinese side, on behalf of the President of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to participate in the National Turkmen Horse Festival scheduled for April.
During the goodwill visit, Berdimuhamedov also extended an invitation from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to visit Turkmenistan at a convenient time.
