Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed decrees related to agriculture and intellectual property at a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, state media reported.
Under the agriculture decree, the Ministry of Agriculture, the state association Turkmengallaonumleri, and regional authorities in Dashoguz and Lebap were instructed to ensure high rice yields in designated districts by organizing production and crop rotation on a scientific basis in line with agrotechnical standards.
Berdimuhamedov also signed a decree aimed at strengthening the role of intellectual property in innovation-driven economic development, aligning the national legal framework with international standards, and ensuring effective protection of intellectual property rights.
The decree approves the Concept for the Development of Turkmenistan’s Intellectual Property System for 2026–2052 and an action plan for its implementation for 2026–2030.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy, along with relevant ministries and sectoral agencies, was instructed to ensure implementation of the outlined measures.
