Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Oguljahan Atabayeva on Sunday presented Arkadag medals to UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Saakyan and UNICEF Representative Jalpa Ratna as part of events marking the foundation’s fifth anniversary.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, a congratulatory message from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was read during the ceremony, along with a decree awarding the Arkadag medal to several heads of international organization offices in the country for their contribution to charitable initiatives.
Ratna and Saakyan congratulated participants on the anniversary of the foundation, whose core activities focus on humanitarian initiatives, and said they were honored to receive the state award, expressing gratitude to the head of state and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The ceremony continued with performances by Turkmen artists. A concert featured a musical and literary composition prepared with theater performers, the Children’s School of Arts named after Shukur Bakhshi in the city of Arkadag, and children’s dance groups.
The foundation was established under a decree signed by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on March 29, 2021. Since then, it has focused on providing support to children in need of care, based on principles of humanitarian assistance.
