Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended congratulations and best wishes to To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on his election as president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, official Turkmen media reported Wednesday.
The President wished To Lam good health, boundless energy and success in efforts aimed at the continued development and prosperity of the Vietnamese people.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, To Lam was elected president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026–2031 term.
Lawmakers unanimously supported his candidacy during the presidential vote, the report said. Following the announcement of the results, To Lam took the oath of office, pledging allegiance to the country, the party and the people.
