Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev proposed the construction of a new modern trade market in the Farab district of Lebap province at an off-site Cabinet meeting on Friday.
According to official Turkmen media, within the framework of tasks outlined in the relevant state program, 12 private-sector enterprises are planned to be commissioned in Lebap province, creating 311 new jobs.
The report noted that six textile industry enterprises under the Ministry of Textile Industry are operating in the region, along with five retail outlets selling textile products. The Türkmenhaly state association operates a carpet production enterprise in Halaç district and four affiliated production units. In addition, 79 enterprises in the fields of production, trade and services owned by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs are active in the region.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of ensuring control over the supply of food and other goods to the domestic market, including in Lebap province, as well as the need to further expand the range of trade services provided to the population.
The head of state approved the proposal to build a new modern trade market in Farab district and instructed the deputy prime minister to carry out the necessary work.
The meeting also reviewed and adopted decisions on a number of other important issues of state life.
