Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baymyrat Annamammedov reported at an off-site Cabinet meeting on Friday that, in line with instructions from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, eight buildings and facilities are scheduled to be commissioned in Lebap province this year.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, construction work is progressing at a high pace to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of the projects.
The deputy prime minister noted that construction of a plant by the Türkmengips joint venture is continuing at an accelerated pace in the city of Dostluk, Döwletli district. The facility is designed to produce 250,000 tons of dry construction mixes and 20 million square meters of gypsum board products annually.
The report also stated that the state concern Türkmenhimiýa is continuing construction of a facility for the annual production of 350,000 tons of superphosphate and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate within the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S. A. Niyazov. Work is also underway in Köýtendag district to bring the Garlyk potash mining complex to its design capacity.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of ensuring full capacity utilization of chemical and construction enterprises across the country, including in Lebap province, and continuing efforts to establish new production facilities in the region. The head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to maintain strict control over the timely and high-quality commissioning of facilities scheduled for completion this year, as well as to continue modernization of regional roads.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov also reported that during January–March 2026, construction was underway on 20 social facilities in Lebap province, seven water supply and wastewater treatment facilities, 4,500 square meters of housing, as well as engineering systems and infrastructure projects.
