The total outstanding volume of loans issued by credit institutions in Turkmenistan to enterprises, organizations and the population in the national currency amounted to 100 billion 756.17 million manats as of March 1, 2026, according to the electronic journal Bank habarlary published by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. This compares with 90 billion 79.01 million manats as of March 1, 2025.

The outstanding loan portfolio allocated to state institutions and enterprises totaled 48 billion 492 million manats as of March 1, 2026, down from 49 billion 550 million manats a year earlier.

Lending to the private sector reached 20 billion 688 million manats as of March 1, 2026, up from 14 billion 877 million manats on March 1, 2025.

Credit extended to citizens and entrepreneurs operating without forming a legal entity amounted to 31 billion 577 million manats over the reporting period, compared with 25 billion 651 million manats a year earlier.
