Turkmenistan Discusses Expansion of Economic Cooperation With World Bank

A delegation of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Babaniyaz Yalakov, held a series of bilateral meetings during the World Bank Group Meetings focused on expanding international economic cooperation, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States said Monday.

During the meetings, the delegation held talks with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani. The sides discussed strategic areas where the World Bank Group could further support Turkmenistan’s national development priorities and socioeconomic progress.

The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides financial and technical assistance to countries to support economic development and improve living standards.

The World Bank Group’s strategy for engagement with Turkmenistan for 2026–2027 focuses on supporting the country’s participation in regional initiatives and providing advisory and technical assistance aimed at economic modernization and development.
