Retail trade turnover in Ashgabat is projected to reach 102.1 billion manats in 2026, with growth driven by the commissioning of new retail outlets, cafes and restaurants, Turkmen state media reported on Tuesday.
Private-sector enterprises are expected to account for the vast majority of retail turnover, with a 95% share.
According to forecasts, the food industry is set to produce 30,000 tons of dairy products (in milk equivalent), 17,100 tons of confectionery products, and 50,500 tons of flour.
Total consumer goods production is expected to reach nearly 7 billion manats, amounting to 6.985 billion manats. Food products are projected to account for 45.4% of the total, while non-food goods are expected to make up 51.3%.
