Uzbekistan and Kuwait are exploring the development of a transport corridor through Turkmenistan, with alternative routes also under consideration via Iran, Türkiye or Iraq.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Ayubkhon Yunusov and Kuwait’s Minister of Trade and Industry Osama Khalid Abdullah Bodai, according to the news agency Dunyo.
The initiative is aimed at expanding exports of Uzbek food products to Gulf countries. Kuwait expressed support for the development of the proposed transport corridor.
It was noted that using Kuwait as a transit hub could provide direct access for Uzbek goods to the markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
