Turkmenistan and Pakistan are planning to establish direct air links between the two countries as part of broader efforts to strengthen transport connectivity and economic cooperation.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari on Wednesday in Ashgabat.
The sides emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in the transport sector and advancing joint infrastructure projects.
They also reviewed prospects for developing road and rail routes linking Pakistan with Central Asian countries through Turkmenistan, as well as opportunities to expand trade via rail corridors running through Iran and Turkmenistan.
Both sides agreed to closely coordinate preparations for trade agreements ahead of a planned high-level visit to Pakistan.
Annayev and Leghari reaffirmed their readiness to work jointly on implementing the agreements reached and further strengthening bilateral ties.
