President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on Friday during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting to present laptops to students entering the first grade in the 2026–2027 academic year, state media reported.
The document was adopted with the aim of implementing the country’s education policy, creating favorable conditions for modern learning, and supporting the development of students with broad knowledge and skills in innovative technologies, according to official reports.
Under the decree, the Ministry of Education is authorized to sign contracts with the joint venture Agzybirlik tilsimaty and the business entity Aýdyň gijeler for the procurement of domestically produced laptops in the required quantity. The equipment is to be installed in educational institutions and maintained technically by August 1, 2026.
The Cabinet meeting also reviewed the results of work carried out in Turkmenistan over the first four months of the year, along with other issues of state importance, with relevant decisions adopted.
