Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the United States Esen Aydogdyyev met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur on May 1, 2026, reaffirming both sides’ readiness to further develop bilateral relations, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States reported.
The sides confirmed their commitment to continuing constructive cooperation and expanding engagement in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
They discussed a range of issues related to bilateral cooperation and noted the positive dynamics in relations between Turkmenistan and the United States. The importance of maintaining regular dialogue and expanding cooperation in priority areas was emphasized.
Particular attention was given to strengthening political and diplomatic ties, advancing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, and enhancing regional connectivity.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their mutual interest in further developing cooperation.
