President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree authorizing the dispatch of 289 pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj.

Under the document, the pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia to carry out the Hajj rites between May 21 and June 11, 2026, according to official Turkmen media reports published on Tuesday.

The state agency Turkmenhowayollary has also been tasked with arranging special flights to transport the pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and back at its own expense.

The Hajj takes place during the Eid al-Adha holiday. Each year, Turkmenistan organizes trips for its citizens to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to perform the religious pilgrimage.
