Construction of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan Border new modern highway is progressing at a high pace along the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz section, which spans 207 kilometers, and the Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border section, which covers 43.6 kilometers, a company representative told the Business Turkmenistan online publication.
The construction works are being carried out under the order of the Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan by the economic company Altyn Nesil. Specialists are currently engaged in stripping the topsoil and carrying out earthworks across 13 sections of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz route.

A total of 778 pieces of machinery and more than 1,000 specialists are involved in construction on the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz section. On the Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border section, 216 units of machinery are in operation alongside 321 qualified specialists.
On the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz segment of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan Border highway, construction is also underway on two water treatment facilities, a parking area, and police road control checkpoints.
Completion of construction works and commissioning of the 43.6-kilometer Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border section are scheduled for the end of July.
