President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to President of the Republic of India Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with numerous human casualties, injuries and widespread destruction caused by severe storms and heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh.

According to official media outlets in Turkmenistan on Friday, the head of state conveyed sincere sympathy and support on behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as personally, to the families of those killed in the disaster, and extended wishes for a swift recovery to the injured.

According to The Indian Express, 111 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh on Friday as a result of severe storms and heavy rains, while another 72 people sustained injuries of varying severity.

The natural disaster caused by strong storms and heavy rainfall also led to significant destruction in the districts of Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Fatehpur.
